Healthy Brown Bread Delight

A delicious and nutritious recipe for homemade brown bread.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, ground flaxseed, chia seeds, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, honey, and olive oil.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Transfer the dough to a greased loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
  • Serve and enjoy!
